Suggestions & Requests / Hard-Coded land?
« on: November 10, 2012, 09:57:15 PM »
Like how the floor is hard-coded to not let the player pass, would the same be possible for other shapes? Such as, say, a hard-coded house?

Suggestions & Requests / Big ol' topic of Lego bricks.
« on: October 29, 2012, 11:27:20 PM »
Here I will post ideas of many Lego bricks. Some of these bricks people may not need, but hey it's nice to have bricks for any purpose. Also please tell me if something has/will already be made and send me the link to the download/proof.

Static Bricks:

- Crystals, coins, gems.

- Without designs

- Without designs

Interactive Bricks:
- Simple door-like bricks, should come in many sizes, I would use it for cabinet doors.
- Window Shutters, would be it's own brick, therefore could also be used for cabinet doors.
- Could open with the bottom being the "hinge".
- Castle Door, without the keyhole pleaee.
- Wooden Door
- Wooden Door
- Gate Door
- Mailbox, just the lid please.

Also, please make another stair brick where one step = one brick.

Post more if you want!

Games / The Light of Altair
« on: October 13, 2012, 04:45:24 PM »
The Light Of Altair
An indie game by SaintXi

The Light of Altair is a sci-fi colony building game with a deep plot. Grow colonies from landing pod to metropolis, while sending off new spaceships to expand your territory to other worlds. You are not alone in space, 8 factions from different parts of the world are all following their own agendas in the solar system; diplomacy and orbital-combat are essential to learn.
The Light of Altair is based on a custom built 3D engine that enables easy zooming from galaxies all the way down to individual moons and asteroids covered in the colonies with their glass domes, mines and launch pads. Advanced shader technology is used to add rich details and lighting to surfaces.

"Light of Altair is a dramatic reworking of the first book in the Legacy of Altair trilogy" says CEO Simon de Rivaz. "You follow the tale of Adrian Alandan in his mission to colonize the planets near Earth... nothing is simple when hyperspace is involved and the human race splits into factions set apart by space and time".

"The game is played out through the colonies the player builds on worlds, moons and asteroids." explains Lead designer Thomas de Rivaz. "The player can build a colony up from a landing pod to a mighty metropolis, or build a network of colonies to trade with each other. Throughout the storyline the player is free to develop in many different directions and the game adapts to suit the player's needs and discoveries."

Light of Altair was written targetting high-end DirectX graphics cards: "The sight of the sun sparkling through a hemisphere of Hydroponics Domes at dawn is amazing" says de Rivaz.

Moon Base Eridani
SaintXi is excited to announce the first sequel to their flagship title The Light of Altair. Being set within the same universe as the original game, Moon Base Eridani continues the story of the original game from a very different viewpoint. While The Light of Altair focused on the wide interstellar expansion of Humanity into the stars, Moon Base Eridani looks deeper into what it takes to be a colonist in a hostile world.

Based on player feedback, Moon Base Eridani concentrates on allowing the player to make their own choices to secure their colonies’ growth. With this free form gameplay, the game is infinitely re-playable with different results every time based on the decisions you make. Creative director Thomas de Rivaz remarks “Without the restraints of scripted missions, we have much more time to improve on the core gameplay that made The Light of Altair fun. Moon Base Eridani keeps the player thinking about a ‘better’ way of laying out their colony. This iterative play style keeps a player’s interest peaked as they solve the mysteries of colonial management”. With multiple worlds to explore and many unique challenges to overcome within a dynamic economy and environment, Moon Base Eridani is set to create a new standard in simulations.

Suggestions & Requests / How Official UI Edits Could Work.
« on: September 16, 2012, 07:51:02 PM »
Firstly, there would be a new section under Files:

This is where people would upload their UI edits.

Then you have the way to actually make these UI edits functional. You must package it into a .zip folder, and put it in add-ons like other add-ons. You would then package as so:
ui_coolui
  myuiedit.png
  otheruiedit.png
  thumbmy.png
  thumbother.png
  ui.txt
(others if required)

You can put random images in there, and ui.txt will tell the game what they are.
ui.txt:
Code: [Select]
name=Cool Cursor
image=myuiedit.png
thumbnail=thumbmy.png
location=\base\client\ui\CUR_3darrow.png

name=Cool Blockland Logo
image=otheruiedit.png
thumbnail=thumbother.png
location=\base\client\ui\Title.png
Using this, you can edit any image in the game if you want, even if it's part of an add-on.

There would be another tab in the options menu with a scroll box with thumbnails of various UI edits you have added. There would be sub-tabs depending on what UI edits you have, and more would be added if a game discovers you have a UI edit for more stuff.

Suggestions & Requests / /support and /unsupport
« on: September 13, 2012, 06:40:03 PM »
This command would be like another emote.

/support [thing] - This would make a green checkmark appear above the player's head and display a chat message saying "Player does support [thing]!"

/unsupport [thing] - This would make a red X appear above the player's head and display a chat message saying "Player does not support [thing]!"

Suggestions & Requests / REVIVAL: Brick Selector Editor

Sometimes, I feel that how Add-On creators set up bricks in the Brick Selector is quite annoying. I would change the script of bricks to change their placement of them, but it's quite annoying, because every time it gets updated again, I would need to change it again.

I feel that a secondary Gui should be made for the Brick Selector, which would allow you to change the placement of any bricks, and also allow you to add new sections and categories or even remove them. It would also allow you to apply new icons to bricks, and even save your changes.

I would love this so much. It would also be cool if it was a part of Too Many Bricks Inventory, cause it's kinda what it is, right?

TL:DR:
A Brick Selector editor
Quote from: Wesley Williams
It definitely is annoying that 2x bricks are below 5x, and along with the editor, tab arrows would be nice default as the old script is broken, and without it you have to go through all your tabs again to go backwards.

For those uncertain of what tab arrows are:
                                            BRICK SELECTOR
[<<<][BRICKS][PLATES][RAMPS][BASEPLATES][TERRAIN][POOP][>>>]

If I'm apparently slapping my "chode" against my keyboard, gtfo please.

Suggestions & Requests / Zombie Apocalypse Gamemode
« on: September 05, 2012, 04:26:29 AM »
It would be kinda like Rampage, in that there are many rounds and it loads default builds, but instead, there are bots that try to kill you. You would get points for killing these bots, depending on what rank they are:

Fighter - Basic zombie, average attack and health. Low amount of points gained.
Basher - Large zombie, huge attack and health. Large amount of points gained. Can destroy bricks like a rampage player.
Dasher - Quake-like zombie, average attack and health. Basic amount of points gained.
Shooter - Shoots projectiles at you, low attack and health, somewhat low amount of points gained.

You start with a gun, and you can buy more weapons with points, however, you need a certain amount of points after a certain amount of time to pass the round. You can access the shop by typing "/buy". Then a list of items you can buy will show up, then you type "/buy [itemname]" You carry your weapons to each round, so you wont need to buy them for each round, and to save points for future rounds.
