firewall, antivirus software
I don't use any. Oh that's right, no one makes viruses for Linux. :cookieMonster:

Antivirus is for people who don't know what sites are bad.

If this guy didn't know what a server was then I'm pretty sure hes incapable of setting up a Linux server to host blockland games.

A "server" is just a computer, the term is used pretty loosely. A REAL "server" would be a computer that has a very fast CPU, lots of ram, and usually no dedicated graphics card. If you really want to host a server for blockland 24/7 I would recommend using and older computer with nothing but the bare essentials installed, like the OS, firewall, antivirus software, and maybe a way of remotely controlling it (UVNC)  so you done need to leave it hooked up to a monitor, keyboard, or mouse. I would guess that a computer with a 2 Ghz processor and 512-1024 Mb ram would be good enough to run a dedicated blockland server.
I know how to use a computer without an OS so would it be possible to run the dedicated server with a super fast computer with a low grade graphics card and no OS?

... and no OS?
You HAVE to have some sort of operating system if you want to run a dedicated server. Also, yes you don't need the server to have a graphics card because you will be running a dedicated server which doesn't run in a GUI.

I think it's better said this way:
Running a dedicated server needs no display, whereas running the client requires graphics.

Yes but I thought that running an OS requires a graphics card.

By the way what is a linux server? Is it a type of server only people on linux os can connect to or something you can only make with a linux os or something.

It means the server runs on Linux, so it means that it doesn't suck.

eh  I like windows is linux any good anyways?

Yea linux is great but getting .exe's to work properly (dedicated server) is a pain is the ass if you have no idea what your doing.

If you can help me with this to:
I need a dedicated minigame mod that keeps your spawn bricks when you leave.  I have one but when I leave my spawn bricks no longer work.
Here, I made it myself, although you need to edit the server.cs if you want to change any settings. It should work 100% properly.
