Author Topic: BL Population Expansion Rate  (Read 656 times)

So if Blockland started in 2006, and there are ~22k users now, what is the expansion rate? Could we use it to predict the future population of Blockland? Because I'd love to know when it's safe to join and get the 33333rd BlID...

I think wedge or ephi or somebody had a mathy chart showing expansion.

You'd probably have to be very lucky to get an exact wanted ID, unless you perhaps paid Badspot directly for it. It'd probably cost a bit more, but whatever.

If I'm not mistaken, I believe Kalphiter had some form of Population graph. I'm not too sure on that though, I think I can recall him posting one in a topic or two.

Actually BL started in 2005.

oh that's who it was.

It's back!
This is basically each point and day of the year we hit x ID

If you were to combine everything, you would see that there is negative growth from 13,000 to 15,800(notice the jump at 15800), and then positive growth from then on.

300 + 782/612  X the square root of pie +12/2=6 X 3/2=9........
My conclusion after hard math and random numbers:
A bunch per week.

Yes I do, I happened to add the last 3000 three days ago.

PNGs are the graphs, the TXTs is the data behind the graphs.

The unit of time is "day of the year".

Wow, wow, wow. So every 4 or 5 days, 100 users join. Coolio Julio. lock'd
EDIT: unlock'd per PM request with a solid point
Hooray for population growth! Soon we'll outnumber China and have to have laws about IDs! WOOOOOOOOO!!
