For transparency, you have to set the material translucent in the exporter.
I did, and this is what happened.

I started the game to test it. I used the command to wear the hat. It's a secret, but it's supposed to let others see the player's head surrounded by the hat. I did, but; it still wasn't transparent, but I could see the contours of the player's head, but it had no color or face. Also;

Change the transparency of the 16x16 PNG?
I used the Gradient Tool and Color Picker to pick a quite transparent color. I used it ingame, but it was all black. Not transparent, just black. I tried other transparent colors, but it was still black.

You are wrong.
Well GIMP is better... That was meant in context with other programs :D not that its completly useless :)

Answer my question, quit fighting about painting programs.

Try doing this with GIMP, then tell us what you got...
Use Google if you have questions about GIMP :S

I doubt that you can make transparent colours that only work in Blockland.I want it so you can see the player's head and other things behind, like the ground.

I don't want it to be invisible, I want it so you can see through it, but you can still see where it is. But, Paint.NET can only make it either completely transparent or not transparent at all.
Use Adobe fireworks or somethin. look up how to make custom psp themes on youtube, there's a link for the program there. (or there WAS, it may have been illegal :3) Ill see if i cant track it down for you...... just a minute :D

EDIT: Just found it. Its a rapidshare link (sorry); also, you may have some issues with it functioning on Windows 7. Just a warning. Here it is:

I also doubt that any program can make a transparent texture that works in Blockland.

Wait a minute.....

you want the MESH to be translucent?!?!?

The colors worked, but it didn't get transparent in-game. I changed the Alpha Slider, but it's a solid color in-game.
OK, its an option in the exporter. When you are going to export DTS, make sure you know the name of the Material you want to be Translucent. Go to file>Export>Torque Shape(DTS) [not quick export]. Then, click the materials tab at the top. Scroll down in the list and look for the material you want transparent. There should be a button that says "Translucent". Click that, and click "Additive" below it in the boxed area. That should do it, thats how i did it.

EDIT: Try removing the texture from the area you want transparent entirely. It may be interfereing with it.

Look at all the CI icons...... Those are transparent. The default ones also have a dimmed grey circle around them; translucency is also possible.
