Author Topic: Model has color in Blender, not in-game  (Read 3097 times)

I've finished my first hat for the SimpleWell Hat Mod. I tried typing in the name, and it worked PERFECTLY, except for 2 things.

1. The hat was put on top of my player's head, but it is a helmet.
2. The colors that is on the Blender model is all white in-game

The misplacing problem is not so bad, I'll fix that, but I can't see how to solve the color problem. Help me, please.

(The transparent part were all white, too. Not transparent.)

You did not UV map it, probably.

So, to make a transparent object, you make a transparent image and use it?

Basically, yes... Havent tested it though.

I don't want it to be invisible, I want it so you can see through it, but you can still see where it is. But, Paint.NET can only make it either completely transparent or not transparent at all.

Use PNG files for the textures. Change the alpha slider.

No need to UV map. Just when you color it, the material names, make 16x16 PNGs of that color and have them the same name.

The colors worked, but it didn't get transparent in-game. I changed the Alpha Slider, but it's a solid color in-game.

Change the transparency of the 16x16 PNG?

For transparency, you have to set the material translucent in the exporter.

I can't see how to change the transparency in Paint.NET, it's either invisible or solid.

Use GIMP or something like thast, paint.net is not good...
