Steam Problem

I have a little problem with Steam.  To my understanding the ingame name is different from the actual Steam name. All I know is my name is Shockwaev both ingame and in Steam.  Halp plox.

You have the ability to change the name you're known by, but not your login name. Like, Funinabox has switched from "Funinabox the Jarate" to "Funinabox the Hunter," etc. You can access this in settings.

Wait so if they change their names it changes it in the search too?

I'm not sure if it'll search aliases (Previous names), but you can right click a person (i.e. in your friends list, who you "don't know") and click "View aliases" to see what their names have been. You can also search their account name, which you may know.
