real men grab a loving magnum and/or shotgun and shoot the faces off of everyone in a two mile radius

Because thats a blocklanders mentality.
Use shotguns.
Always.
Everywhere.
While storming other players :C

Speaking of which, a magnum is as good as and or better than a Military Sniper during a zombie minigame.

But I still think that this would be cool. You ever wanted true stealth? This is the key. Imagine:
With death notice:
Even if you manage to sneak in, the first guy you kill will automatically raise an alert to other players. As well, after killing 1 person during a battle, they know:
-(in event that said corpse was carrying an awesome weapon) To get the hell out of there
-(in event you have a rocket minigun) To get the hell out of there
-(in event you have a weak weapon) OO! Easy kill!
-(in event they sniped) They hit and took out their target
Without:
A new element of caution, stealth, and teamwork arises. People can't stray far from each other, as they can easily be separately picked off by snipers and/or stealthy people without knowing just how vulnerable their team is. If they do stray from the pack, even if they survive, there is no telling whether backup will be readily available if the need arises. They also will need to be cautious everywhere. Normally, you can either tell (a) the spy in our base is dead or (b) we killed everyone in the other bases, or also (c) that spy is pwning, better not go inside, or (d) all my buddies are dead. Without that, the unsuspecting warrior may be surprised to find a ready knife waiting on the other side of the door...
