Author Topic: Add-On Cleaner  (Read 969 times)

I don't know if this idea was posted earlier, but here I have a nice idea of this feature which could be added in version 18. I came up with this idea, because I don't even know how to get them all away again. I think there should be a limit on Add-Ons, my Blockland has to wait 2 minutes to start up completely and starting a server, because of the Add-Ons I received by many servers.

Add-On cleaner could be a very good feature. That you can enable in Options "Delete Add-Ons that are not used with-in 30-days". So you keep always your Add-Ons folder clean.

If you aren't going to use an add-on and you're annoyed about it cluttering up your computer. Don't download it.

You can't just play everyday Single Player. I think you want also the most of the fun in an online server. Another thing I could do is back-up the old Add-On folder with the files I need, and when ever I download the new Add-Ons I can delete them, but that will take a lot of time.

The downloaded content from other servers shouldn't be making your server take longer to start since it doesn't try to run any of those, it's only the models/textures/etc.

This would be bad because it would delete private mods/rare ported stuff if you don't use them in 30 days, and then you have to have them enabled to keep them from being deleted thus slowing down your load anyways.

The actual code of an add-on should be the only thing that takes a little more time to load, however, the add-ons you download when you join a server don't give you the code, snd you are left with images and sound, which your server can't use because they need to be "turned on" if you will by a script. So, while I'm sure you have the best intentions, your idea sucks.
