Same here, and it's the same gateway VX720 monitor that came with my stock pentium II computer. The monitor is still fine after all these years, although the computer that it came with is long gone.
Somewhat the case with the Dell monitor that I still use (which is also 1280x1024, might I mention). I got the monitor with a Dell computer 4 years ago, the PC died in 2008, and the monitor has worked fine ever since.
I guess I'm lucky too, I've heard about these monitors breaking very often within a very short timespan.
