So I have a slightly oldish LCD monitor, 4:3 at 1600x1200, 19" diagonal. The only problem is is that if I don't keep a fan on it (and sometimes when I do) I get, at varying times of using it, this band of discoloration (roughly an inch and a half thick in the middle of the screen) that ranges from an annoyance to I literally cannot discern what is behind it.

The only way to remedy this is to turn off my computer monitor for four-five minutes.

This was all well and good, until recently when it's been doing it more frequently, sooner, and the fan doesn't appear to be helping much.

SO I got my old CRT out. It looks passably good. I think it's about 17" diagonal and still has a resolution of 1600x1200. It doesn't look like stuff but it's big and could look better.

I was looking at this monitor, and it looks like a damn good deal. But I've been wanting to get a Zune HD for the longest time to replace the stuffty media player on my phone.

What would you guys suggest?

Zune will make you shat paint.

Bah i'm still using a 1280x1024 CRT. Baby.

Flip a coin.

What were you hoping for?

Meh, get the monitor.

I'm using a CRT too, but it's still really good.

Wait, how expensive is Zune?

The Zune is amazing, but the new Windows Phone series is being released this Christmas for Sprint and T-Mobile.  The phone is going to have Zune integration.
Damn mondays wont do it for CDMA services yet, they are "perfecting it". :/

But if you aren't looking for a phone, the Zune has actually turned me into an addict of music.  I just downloaded 50 songs yesterday for $15 a month.  It is so worth it.

Alright I voted Zune but then I reconsidered. Monitor is more important imo.

Monitor.

My friend got the Zune HD for Christmas last year and returned it a week later to get the iPod Touch.

Bah i'm still using a 1280x1024 CRT.
Same here, and it's the same gateway VX720 monitor that came with my stock pentium II computer. The monitor is still fine after all these years, although the computer that it came with is long gone.
