Problem with Launching Flatout: Ultimate Carnage via Steam

This is the only game that gives me this error.

When I go to launch it, it first says remember this key for multiplayer. Then I click on OK, and then Windows asks me if I want to let the game make changes to my computer, and I say yes, and finally, a steam first time setup screen comes up for a second then goes away and nothing happens. I tried reinstalling the game and looking up steam support but it isn't helping. Anyone know what could be wrong?

This happened to me too, I submitted a Steam ticket for it a long time ago.

Just wait till I get in my Steam account to get a some quotes..

Hello, i sent a support ticket i couldn't connect to key server. It been solved, now i am into another problem:

After i press "PLAY" at the key window where i also got a CD-Key it goes like this:

1. I press play
2. Window appears the game loads:
"Performing first time setup..."
"Installing (part 1 of 1)"
3. Window closes and NOTHING else is happing

Notes:

I checked in the Task Manager and there's no FlatOut.exe or anything.
While i have the windows open with Performing first time setup etc. my name appears in GREEN, and my friends see me as in-game, after window closes i remain green for some seconds then it's back to blue. And nothing pops up.
I do not have a router
ONCE it became something with Microsoft Live something... After Part 2 above: "Performing first time setup" etc.

Thank you, I hope this problem is solved since i really want to play the game.
If the problem gets solved before i receive any message from you I will close the "session" after i will post a additional comment like "Problem solved".

Thank you for contacting Steam Support.

Please run the following programs:

(default location: C:\Program Files)

\Steam\steamapps\common\flatout ultimate carnage\support\DirectX\DXSETUP.exe
\Steam\steamapps\common\flatout ultimate carnage\support\vcredist_x86.exe

Also, install the latest version of the Games For Windows Live software, which can be found here:

http://www.microsoft.com/games/en-us/live/pages/livemarketplace.aspx

Restart your computer.

Then, re-test the issue.

It installed DirectX and VCRedist before the problem started to appear.
I will proceed installing Games For Windows Live, restart and then test again.
If it still does not work i'll try to Re-install DirtectX and VCRedist and give another restart.

If it works or does NOT work i will message you again.

Works fine for me.  The only problem I had was with updating GFWL, but that was easily fixed by signing in on another game (like DiRT 2) and downloading the update from there.
