The shine on the hair is weird since it looks like she either has really greasy hair or whatever light source is being reflected isn't affecting anything else in the scene.
That's what I was afraid of saying.

Well don't be. He won't know what flaws people see in his work if you aren't willing to tell him. You're not stuffting on his work for no reason, you'd be giving him constructive criticism which is what he asked for, not, "Looks good man."

After further inspection I see faint shadowing of her arms onto the table, but unless her arms are perfectly perpendicular to the light source they should be casting more of a shadow. The projected shadow on the table before she eats the sandwich doesn't look bad though.

For future shadowing work I'd like to mention that source angle and intensity of source and ambient lighting play a big role in how shadows are cast. I mean, there is a huge difference between the shadow cast on an object between the sun and a moderately lit room.

I like the coloring, dude

I might take some notes

oh my goodness that is cute as forget

Greatly appreciate the tips, and it's always better when you elaborate more on the problems. I'll take this into consideration and try out a new drawing or some sort tomorrow after busy crap.

Edit:

I would also like to clarify that I would like tips to help it look better by addressing issues that would otherwise lower the quality of the colours. I'm not too worried about perfect lighting and shadows, since the main purpose is to make something that looks nice, and sometimes complete accuracy of lighting techniques would be unnecessary and would rather cause more stress for perfection.

Help on perfect lighting, though, would still help me understanding more on how to do it and is welcomed. But I'm still looking for the issues of overall quality, like the hair shine addressed by Otis and Tesla.

Cheers.

Sorry, I can't draw worth a stuff so I can't give you any practical advice on actual technique. :cookieMonster:

You've been most helpful so far, mate.
