Blender was good. Then they released the update, messed up all the controls/shortcuts and broke the render system.

A lot of people like Wings 3D, but it requires you have blender 2.49 and the Torque DTS exporter.
It doesn't require blender, you can use Milkshape to do it aswell.

You mean 2.5? It's far better than 2.49 in many ways. You just need a while to get used to the new interface. I could never go back to 2.49 now.

Yea, but he isn't going to pay 40 dollars to do it for free. Blender is free as is Wings, making it the free deal.
