trouble with VAC

while playing on these games:

Team Fortress 2

Counter-Strike: Soucre

Half-Life 2: Deathmatch

Garry's Mod

I get disconnected from a server (after about 5 minutes) with an error saying something like "No connection could be made to the VAC servers blah blah blah)

i've already tried:

restarting steam

reinstalling steam

rebooting my computer

opening ports on my router

removing my firewall

can anyone help me?
