AVG is detecting 80% of my programs as trojans.

WHY THE HELL IS THIS?

I've got ESET Smart Security v4.0 and I have no idea if it's free or not ( My uncle downloaded it for us )

It's not free. There is a downloadable version that should be fine.

Get Microsoft Security Essentials. It's from Microsoft and is also lightweight.
It's very good. It simply includes everything you need.

I think MalwareBytes is the way to roll in style

but i got norton as a bonus in my new comp

Another good reason for Microsoft Security Essentials, theres no paid version, you shouldn't ever be asked to buy a 'full' version or anything.

True, let it be free to be protected from malware/viruses. Although, buying more protection is better (ex. Firewall, Anti-Spam, ect.). Besides, Antivirus companys need to make money too.
