Quake 3 Arena is a First Person Shooter arena game developed by ID Software in 1999. While the game is old, many still enjoy it's fast-paced competitiveness that you can't find in a game of Halo. The game features 3 gamemodes. Free-For-All, FFA, It's every man for himself. Kill everything that isn't you. Team Deathmatch, TDM, where you fight with other people in a team to kill the other team, teamwork = mass destruction. Capture the Flag, CTF, it's the same as TDM, but you must go into the enemy team's base, take their flag and bring it back to your base. Sounds easy, right? Now try it while running from bullets and rockets. Everything about Quake 3 makes it a fun classic. With many weapons and characters to choose from, why play CoD or Halo when you can play this.

This game is available for CD-ROM, and on Steam, but I don't know if the servers are the same. BUY IT NOW AND DISCUSS.

Quake Live is the newer version of Quake 3. But most veteran Q3 players like me decided to stay on Q3.

I installed quake 3 just to play online. Only to see the fact i cant connect to the master server.

Turn off 'Show full servers"

Quake live is better, mouse control actually works.  In quake 3 my mouse cuts in and out.

I prefer Quake 3 over Live because of mods, gore and a proper railgun.

Same here.

I love this game. Don't know where the cd is though. :c

Guys, I'm gonna make a new Quake 3 Fortress mod. Who wants to help? c:

My dad used to play this game and I would watch pretty much since I was like 4.
He recently obtained a copy and it's fun.
