Yes, it does.

Lets say my email is hello123@blabla.com

But I type in helmo123@blabla.com

If I were to make a new email under that misspelled name, I could use password recovery (Which sends the account password to the email that you registered with) and change the password on said account afterwards.

Zelot. You should of set up a security question. It is an easy way to get your account back after you've gotten hacked. And you can fix your email afterwards in the profile options.
