Author Topic: Get Various Autodesk Apps (Including 3ds Max and Maya) Free!  (Read 799 times)

Simply sign up on that site, and download away!  It's really as simple as that.  Seriously, there's 3ds max, maya, softimage, mudbox, and autocad.  Normally, these programs cost hundreds of dollars, and are meant for professionals.  I guess they finally realized that the programs are almost never bought by non-professionals.

So now why would a company even buy any programs besides the ones that aren't free?

Awesome. Always wanted to learn to use these. :D

The people who would pay multiple thousands of dollars for their software in the first place are companies and developers that cannot legally sell products without owning the license to the software they used to design their product in the first place.

The idea here is if you give graphic artists a free student pass, they become acquainted with the software, and when they become an employee or owner of their own graphic company they have already used the Autodesk suite and will legally buy the package now that they need to, as opposed to any competitors.

Student licenses that is. Also don't think about trying to export to Blockland with this because the DTS version is way above Blocklands.

Uh, I was talking about "darkstride", I've got no idea about them.

Then we've listed 3 people.

I purchased the student's suite for these exact same products, that cost me over £100, and now it's all free?

I hope the people who actually paid for this stuff not long ago get a bonus.

I've been subscribed to this for several years now, they actually removed the requirement to have a .edu email address a year or so ago, I think you can apply now as a high school student. The licenses on most of the software now are for 3 years now, which is awesome. I've currently got AutoCAD 2012 and Impressions 3 installed.

Nope, sorry :(

I figure everyone already knows about dreamspark, but here it is again: https://www.dreamspark.com/
The program selection isn't actually that great, but you can get various professional versions of visual studio, and a couple different versions of windows server for free.

Also, if you're in college, if your school is enrolled in the program, and you're registered in an appropriate computer science or engineering program, you should check out MSDNAA. The school lookup is here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/academic/dd861349

You can get a lot of free software from there, including copies of Windows 7 Professional, XP, etc.
