Half-life 1 start up error.

I just bought half life 1 and when ever i launch it I get this error:
SteamStartup(0xf,0x0012F928) failed with error 1: failed to take master pipe connection lock.

Please help.

On topic, re-installing seemed to fix it for another person. Be sure to delete the Half-Life folder in your steamapps/yourusername before uninstalling.

you only really have to delete the half-life folder, it's created upon first startup.

Ok, it started doing it for half life 2 but then i restarted steam and it worked. Do I still need to delete the half life 1 folder?
