Author Topic: Making a model blocko?  (Read 922 times)

So, I have this gun model in Milkshape; I want to make it an addon for Blockland, but it looks... to realistic for it. I dont want to be a black sheep here and release it totally like that; is there any way to make the model blocko style? So it relates to Blockland?

Flatshading it is the closest without re-doing it.

Or just redo it with less detail and more boxy + add bevels.

Woah, boy. No need to go so far. I can never agree with you that the default gun is stuff. The default gun is the way it is for a reason. This is blockland. By definition, based on the defaults:

Octagonal barrels (Gun and Rocket L)
Low poly guns (Gun and Rocket L)
Bevels (Hammer and Wrench)
Partially smooth, partially flatshaded (Gun, Player Boat, Horse, Jeep)

K.

No opinions here.

No one has to follow these rules (I don't :P) but this is the way it is.

Those are basically the guidelines.

I could only second TheKhoz's list. Just keep your things simple, or simple looking (but actually really delicate).

Actually, I was wrong.

Hexagonal Barrels (Gun)

I'd think you should use hexagons for circles and 3 sided "arches" for half-circles.
