If it's not showing an OS choice, it probably deleted the BOOT.INI file on your C: drive. It usually looks something like this:Code: [Select][boot loader]timeout=30default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS[operating systems]multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition" /fastdetect /NoExecute=OptInPut in your OS disk and try following the repair option (possibly with a guide from online). If that doesn't work, you can only do this method is you have a spare computer lying about (not everyone does.)If you have antivirus software on your other computer, take the hard drive out of that computer and put it in your other one, and RUN A VIRUS SCAN IN SAFE MODE. Remove any threats found, put it back in the one computer, and do the following above.
[boot loader]timeout=30default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS[operating systems]multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition" /fastdetect /NoExecute=OptIn
Woah, woah what? What did you do in the first place to get a virus like this?
would an external hard drive work?I have no idea
