Oblivion Controls problem - PC

I have bought the GOTY Deluxe edition of Oblivion on steam, it plays fine for a few minutes and then my mouse and keyboard cannot control it, I can't move my mouse around or press any keyboard buttons however the game still runs like normal, I have tried editing the .ini file however this does not work.
Is there any solution to this?, I really want to play the game without saving every few minutes and then having to close it and open it again, to load the save to play it for a few more minutes D:

I too have an oblivion problem where after a few minutes of playing at normal fps the game stuffs out and goes at like 5 fps. Reinstalling didn't help that :(.

but yeah, reinstalling normally works, or if you have mods installed they could be loving it up.

Found the issue;

4.21 My mouse/keyboard becomes nonfunctional after 5-10 minutes.

This has become a very frequent problem as of late, likely having to do with codec issues. Here is an ongoing thread with suggestions and possible solutions such as setting the latest Media Player 10 as the default for mp3 files to using a utility such as the K-Lite Codec Pack.

It's likely that Nightmare's Codec Reset Utility does the same thing as K-Lite's
