Turtle Beach X11 Headset.
I was given the X11 headset as a gift, and had to return it. It had this very annoying hissing sound that got in the way of me hearing anything. On top of that, the plastic was terrible. When I picked them up, I was afraid they would just fall apart are snap when there was any tension put on them.

By the time I get 85 bucks the deal will probably be done.

I'm leaning twords this 12 dollar headset to use until I find something better.

I have dogs and they chew on stuff alot, so i'm lowering the budget to $50.

You should sell your dogs and use the money to buy multiple headsets

My X11s don't have any of those issues :o

OP, take a look at this.

I don't usually recommend Creative brand stuff (their sound cards are overpriced and often have issues), but I've had this headset, and it's great. Just make sure you don't have massive loving elf ears, as the ear cups are a bit on the small side.

Even if you don't manage to get one with a forgetton of defects, you still have to deal with all that cord conversion bullstuff and the whole extra USB cord for power thing. It's best to get a headset made for a specific platform by a good, well known company.

Or you could not buy Turtle Beach headphones...

Yes, there are plenty of good gaming headsets out there. Am I saying that the Turtle Beach X11s are the best and that everyone should go buy a pair right now? No.

The conversion cords are extras that come with the headset in case you want to use it with you Xbox360/TV, if you only want to use it with your computer, you just plug and play.

The headset is USB powered, so if you're short on USB ports, you may want to look into a different headset.

The cord is lengthy, but it comes with a velcro strap to keep it coiled to save space, and it's nice if you actually do want to use it with your TV across the room.

The headset has conveniently placed chat/game volume controls on the cord, along with a Mute/On switch for the mic.

The mic can also pivot either way, so you can use it on either side of your face.

The headset also has voice-monitoring, so you don't accidentally make your buddies' ears bleed since you can't hear how loud you're speaking and adjust accordingly.

The material used on the earpieces is mesh, so it's comfortable to wear for long periods of time.

I haven't had any problems or complaints since I bought the headset, so I thought I would recommend it.
