Author Topic: Is it possible to Run Age of Empires II without a moniter switch?  (Read 1079 times)

I think your game is trying to run at a resolution that your new one doesn't support.
Change the resolution to something that you think your new one would support.

I've tried compatibility modes and changing res size and none of it works.
Aha, I was on minecraft on steam.
I took a screen shot, exited minecraft, Waited for the menu to pull up, And clicked "Show on Disk"
Now I am able to access my folders ;)

Possesed Angel's Fix didn't seem to work.
I didn't get an error. but I didn't get anything.
It pops up, States that it is loading, and disappears.

Bump, because this is my favorite game of all time, and I was hoping that I could get it to work ;'C
Looks like something was wrong with the shortcut.
Even using Possesed Angel's fix.
I still get that "Could not initialize graphics system" error.
Even after doing all the other things I would normally do, resolution changes, color changes, etc.

Final Bump, You do not know how badly I miss playing this.
And Lugging that old monitor around is difficult.

your GPU may need an upgrade or is not supported by the game

either that or you just can't run it. after a google search, this game appears to be very hard to run on windows 7 as has been mentioned already

AOE2 is a very fickle beast, the only way I can run it is on an old work laptop nowadays.

I honestly don't see how upgrading it would help at all.

Compatibility mode: Go

I don't know how to fix that, but I know it can work on Windows 7. I have it installed on my computer and it works fine. Never had any trouble.
