Author Topic: BF:BC2 Disconnect problem.  (Read 399 times)

I know there is a thread but it's easier to get help with a new one.

After a while I get disconnected from multiplayer games (1-5 minutes roughly)
I searched and port forwarded and I have tried a few other things but it hasn't helped.

Does anyone here know how to fix this?

I am on a PS3!

Ps3, PC or Xbox?
I don't know about PC and Xbox but if it's on Ps3 the problem might be that you don't have NAT type 1.

forget I forgot to mention it's on PS3

Also how do I go about changing this NAT type? (I don't know what NAT is. :(    )

There's 3 NAT types.
It's like a security thing for your Ps3 internet.
NAT 3 is stuffty because you can't connect to any other player unless they also have NAT 3.
NAT 2 is open but you can still get thrown of server (not sure why)
NAT 1 is fully open and I read somewhere that you need to be directly connected to your router (ethernet cable) to get type 1.

I've got NAT 2, you can check which NAT type you got by doing that connection test in the network menu.
To get NAT 2, your router needs to have UPNP enabled.

Alright well i'm still on NAT 2 but I got it working with DMZ.
