Author Topic: I need help with Fable III  (Read 2109 times)

So Fable III just finished downloading and when I try to launch it, in a matter of seconds it crashes.
I dont know whats happening, and I refuse to reinstall it as it took a full day to install.

Any help is appreciated.

To install or to download? What are you using for it? Steam?

I bought it for Steam, yes. But the problem is, when I launch it a little screen pops up that says, Installing Games for Windows - Live.
I figured that I needed this, and went to download the client from the web browser. That didnt work either.
I dont know what to do now.

What are you running on? System OS I mean.

Well, from what I've found it sounds like it a 'Games For Windows Live' Problem.

-   Try running GFWL Prior to starting Fable 3.

-   If that doesn't work, re-install games for windows live then repeat above.

-   If it still doesn't work make sure firewall isn't blocking games for windows live and repeat above.

-   Make sure you restart your computer in between trying to fix it.

If it still doesn't work try running though some of the fixes on this page: http://geekyupdate.com/2011/06/04/fable-3-pc-fix-lagcrashfreezeblack-screen

-   Apparently This sign in assistant seems to help too: http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=15106

-   And another user says as soon as he turned on windows seven updates he could launch, might want to try that too.

That's all I can really help you with, good luck on fixing your problem.

When I try to install Windows Live manually, I get an error;
A network error occurred while attempting to read from the file: c:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\GFWLive\Downloads\wllogin.msi
