Author Topic: Half Life 2/Garry's Mod lighting problems  (Read 4931 times)

Well, I'm playing Nova Prospekt in Half Life 2, and I always have this lighting problem, where everything is bright as hell when it's not supposed to be. I get the same problem playing Garry's Mod.

Is there a possible way to fix this?

did you try updating your video card drivers?

No. How can I do so? (please excuse my stupidity)

The nova prospekt levels do this for some reason in Gmod, it's known, happens to me too.

No, like, I would play some other maps and everything would be bright as stuff.

some console command must have been put in because you've got fullbright on

well it's very easy first you want to go to whoever made your video card since mine was made by XFX i'll use that as a example
then i'll go to my card and the OS i'm using
you should see something along the lines like this
http://xfxforce.com/en-us/Help/Support/SupportFiles.aspx?ProductCode=HD-557X-ZNFR
then just download the files and install you should be good to go

Well, I tried updating my drivers but the lighting problem didn't go away.

Found a solution, but not quite. mat_fullbright is set to 1. When I set it to 0, it's still incredibly loving bright.

Can you post a picture without mat_fullbright 1? Also are you playing a default or custom map? Some custom maps might not have lighting and thus will always be fullbright.
