Author Topic: What college should i go to?  (Read 966 times)

You could try using this search tool.

I set my parameters to Alabama, and a "Computer Engineering - General" major, and found three colleges.
Auburn University, University of Alabama in Huntsville, and University of South Alabama.

I'm sorry, but I'm not sure you should let strangers online decide where you should go for college...

Good point. However, i am only looking for suggestions.

"So How did you find us?"

"Some kids on the internet told me lol"

I used to live in Auburn, so naturally I'd suggest Auburn University. It's one of the best in AL.

It's really silly when people judge a school or area by a major sport there.

It's even more so silly when people start quibbles because of that reason.

As a soon to be graduating degree holder of electrical and computer engineering you could always just listen to what these jerks have to say.

ORRRRRRR

Search out a decent state school and go check it out. The top 10 are great schools, but in reality for undergraduate engineering education you will be learning the exact same core material no matter what school you go to. If you think you'd be interested in undergraduate research (read: lab rat) then you need to consider what fields of computer engineering you are most interested in. Every school has different research specializations and even though a school may not be top ranked overall it may have a very prestigious professor doing research there. If not, there are schools that focus more on teaching than research. These may be a better fit for you if you need a lot of helpful interaction with professors. Honestly, a lot of research professors do not give one damn about the classes or students they teach.

So what I am saying is go wherever the hell you want. If you get accepted to a top tier school and like the campus when you visit then good for you.

Carnegie Mellon University
For a small fortune, you can go to the number one computer science school!
Also its number 4 in computer engineering.
