Author Topic: Blockland version of PlayX.  (Read 1240 times)

Someone might of already submitted this, but I was thinking when I was in Garry's Mod of Blockland having a Youtube Player which everyone could see within the server...

What do you think?
is it able with Torque script?

*repost from help...

You mean a live feed of a server?

No, I think he means a mod that plays youtube videos on a server.
If this is it, then this cannot be done; The game could download the video, but would be unable to play it as I am unaware of any method to play videos in-game.

Impossible without Engine Changes, even then it'd be a hell of a workaround spree I'm sure.

Oh okay, I didn't think it would happen because of the engines limitations...

Could be possible with this. But everyone would need the client mod. And that sucks too so it wouldn't look great. It's a lot more work than what it is worth.

Munkey, that's a gui. It wouldn't be like PlayX at all.

Get a GuiAviControl and put it on the playGUI, then when the video is done, delete it.

Issue is, you have to make everyone download the potentially large file.

I think it's safe to say the download system doesn't have a engine-coded, intentional method to send AVI files anyway.

Mmm..

Mmm..

And possibly controversial, including MLP and research (and some even more questionable combinations of the such).

Then you ban them/leave the server?

We'd never allow people to send us videos to play, we don't even take prints people make for themselves. And the market will be flooded with more bad videos than good.

But this completely misses the point. Sorry I extended the conversation.
