I don't know what countdown you're talking about, but why the hell wouldn't you be there for a countdown?
There's a lever I pull 10 seconds before midnight that does all the fireworks.

I had trees outside my build, updated my Blockland copy, then was surprised by the Christmas lights.

It made the trees even better.

I'm doing that right now, I just have to work out discrepancies between the music list on my computer and on the server.
