Will this router work well? And, if I just unplug all the internet cords from my current hub and plug it in to the router, will it work just fine?

Here's my setup:

They're mostly internet cords going to my Xbox and my PC.

Would a wireless or a wired router work better for this?

If you don't already have a wireless router, you can get one and turn it into a bridge like you have in that image.

alright, so i can just use it to replace the hub shown in the image, and just reconnect all the wires into the wireless router?

sounds easy, is it fast?

It's 10/100mbps, so as long as you don't need speeds over 100mbps, you're good to go.

yay, and for $10 used it's a steal

You can literally just swap them and you'll be fine. You might need to configure the router for certain things (ie portforwarding for hosting). Message me if you need help with that.

alright, thanks :D

i'm gonna order it now.

wait, do all routers have DC inputs?

also, does it matter if it's wired or not? so many questions

wireless is pretty much just an access point that's coming from a router

so, if i'm using it as a bridge, will it still work like a router? like, will i be able to forward my ports and host on blockland?

/confused

I've had problems with Linksys routers in the past. They're cheap, but sometimes unreliable.

so, if i'm using it as a bridge, will it still work like a router? like, will i be able to forward my ports and host on blockland?

if you use it as a bridge it's not a router
it allows the use of extra connections from one jack

so if i replaced the hub in the picture with the router, it won't work like a router?
