I'm amazed at the lack of these types of vehicles. In my opinion, it would be rather neat to have things like these around. Particularly for an RP/fortwars-type server.
Things like handcarts, ballistae and sloops/more ships. A mobile cannon could be nice too.
The sloop could be modeled after this:

With pirate cannons mounted appropriately on the broadsides(or one in the middle somewhere).
It could be slightly faster and maybe 3.5-to-5 times the size of the rowboat and seat 6 people. 2 for guns. 1 driver. 3 passengers.
How it could be made: As exemplified by the Rowboat, the controls wouldn't exactly be realistic. But, I believe I have found a theoretical fix for that:
Give the boat flying capabilites. Not literal flying, but rather have similar controls to the Flying Carpet. Its controls could be disabled if it's not at the map's water level(since all maps have a single, global water level).
And since the Flying Carpet has "realistic turning", it would apply very well to a ship. Simply disable turning on the yaw/Y and roll axes, thus allowing only "rudder" control.
Think a standard rowboat, that can't be turned unless it's in water, and actually has a turning radius.
I don't know much about Torque so I don't know if you can "get" the water level or tell if the entity is in water. But I saw a water mod that allows you to modify the water level, so it must be possible.
Handcarts are basically carts that have a person in front to hold two support beams and lug around with him, as a cheap method of transporting goods.
Could seat one(driver), with maybe a passenger seat inside a crate for smuggling illegals into castles :D
A ballista is basically a massive crossbow that fires a huge bolt, usually into groups of infantry.
The BL vehicle could be manned by 1 person
(since we all know how hard it is to get random people on a server to work together).
It could re-use the spear datablock to save memory, and would look something like this:

What do you think?
