Author Topic: In Need of Cheap, Good Brand Gaming DESKTOP  (Read 570 times)

My parents said at the beginning of the school year that if I have straight A's for the first time in about 5 years in my schooling career, they'll buy me something that will knock my ass into the toilet.

Seeing as how I am home-schooled now, I can focus forget tons more and am making it my primary priority and so far I have all A's.  Just have to maintain those grades until summer.

Anywhosle, I talked with my folks, and they're game for it, as long as I put forth all of my Easter and allowance money as well.

NOW THE PREPOSITION

I am looking for a reliable brand name, less expensive, and quality gaming laptop.  Not a desktop.  I think something on the lines of ASUS or Alienware.  My friend just got a pretty smexy ASUS but I am unaware of the cost.  Know that I am searching like hell for a website that my lovely (and stubborn) parents will trust to spend said money on a laptop.  Best Buy, and Wal-Mart aren't very good in gaming PC's.  Thank you guys.

alienware will steal your wallet, avoid them.

good brand

cheap

gaming laptop

pick one

There's not really such a thing as a good gaming laptop for cheap, laptops aren't meant for gaming, you should only worry about a laptop if you really really need the mobility and even then getting a cheap desktop comp for gaming and a cheap laptop for when you're mobile would be cheaper over-all. Anyway if you're set on a gaming laptop check your local best buys sometimes they have a good one on sale, like one time way back when 9800 was one of the better gaming cards I saw a laptop with a dual core and a 9800 gt mobile for $600 since it was the last one which would be good even by today's standards.

correct.  I just felt a laptop is best.  It all depends on the combo of quality and cost.  If I find a decent gaming desktop, I'll choose that over the laptop.  So far I haven't found jack stuff in laptops.

Come to think of it, this is but 20 bucks more than the laptop I was thinking of, and is kickass quality.

Asus A series laptops are consideribly cheaper then G (gaming) series laptops, but have less power and less build quality.

My Asus laptop costs $1,800 and can play any game on maximum.
