Author Topic: Interior LED Lights for My car  (Read 6415 times)

Haha its not hard to mount them under the body of a vehicle.

I could have gotten exterior lights but since any neon is illegal in my state, I would get pulled over and fined everytime a cop passed me. I choose interior because its harder for police to see. With exterior they would see me coming before I would have a chance to switch them off.
No that's the 7 color one. That set can change it color but sacrifices some brightness. This is my kit.
do they have that exact same kit in red? This would look great with the red dashboard in my Kia soul

Ah okay. And it comes with an instruction manual and all that fun stuff?

the product page has the installation instructions and what comes with the kit.

I can't really see the logic in spending money on something that will devalue your car, but to each his own.

oh derp.

anyway I've been reading some stuff on interior car light laws in my state and I guess you just can't have them on while you're driving. meh, still worth it IMO.

That's cool. I've had blue LED's for my car's interior as well for a while but I've yet to install them because it's at my mom's house and I don't quite have my license yet. 27 more days.

Seeing as exterior neon lights are illegal in Illinois, i figured interior would be the next best thing :)

Do you just plan to put them under the dash board or light up the back seat as well?

Yeah. I highly recommend getting the installation accessory (under "Buy Now") that plugs the lights directly into your car's fuse box. Without that you need to run the wire directly to you battery and it makes things more complicated. Although make sure you know if your car uses standard fuses or mini fuses.

I don't really plan on having to sell my car. I've always been big on making things I own unique while still having a nice look. I like modifying my car because it makes the vehicle my own and different from everybody elses.

Maybe you should spend your money on a dash cam instead
Haha, nice video. I've always wanted a dash cam.

It's going for the dash board, It will add to the effect of feeling like I'm inside a stormtrooper helmet.

I finally got around to posting pictures of the installed backseat lights:

And here are a few various pics of the setup:

If you only plan on installing them on the dash you may be able to get away with getting a set with only 2 tubes of LED. Its a bit cheaper and comes with an expandable adapter so you can add more LED tubes if you need to.

Aw man, that is just awesome. You must really like the color blue.

Better not be illegal for California.
Or at least when I'm older.
