Author Topic: Do you think Blockland would ever go to console?  (Read 1912 times)

imagine the awful aliasing on a 1080p tv.
it would be unbearable. blockland is notorious for showing them lines more then any other game on earth lol.
not an issue for a computer, a simple graphic edit and they are gone. but this isnt possible for a tv
i ran my pc on a tv before. it looks bad but its kinda fun

pc+television isnt nearly as bad as native-pc game on console on television.

games that are ported are already greatly dumbed down so stufftiness isnt as obvious. but blockland wouldnt go through graphic changes if ported. it would simply look bad on a tv when looking at the builds.

Wtf are you talkin' about, HD TVs have better quality than HD Monitors

lol no... no they are not

1080p actually sucks lol

not to mention the many other graphical advantages monitors have besides resolution

So could I but Minecraft has made itself over 2 mil.

uh..

2mil. =/= 6million people paid $20-$26

No, BL needs too high a level of control for console.

I disagree, in a discussion about how to implement an iPad version I came up with a very reasonable control scheme for the "buttonless" device.

When you make a port you don't literally carry over the same format and feel as the PC version.

If it was made for PS2 (just for demonstration sake since I'm unaware of the PS3 controller):

X                     Place Ghost Brick / Select
R1                    Fire / Confirm Ghost Brick
Start                Menu
Select              Brick Menu
brown townog L          Move Character (left and right movement acts as strafe)
brown townog R          Move Aim
Square             Jump / Jet Combo
Triangle            Dispose of item / Undo If Nothing Selected
Arrow Pad        Navigate menus / navigate ghost brick / navigate item choice
Circle                Paint Can
R3                    Jet (no jump)
L3                     Jump (no jet)
R2                     Crouch
L1                      Emote (how many times pressed depends what emote occurs or if player sits)
R2 + L2             Admin teleport / spawn
L2                     Walk

As for chatting, that would be placed as a little GUI below the brick menu when you open it, and controlled by the arrow pad.

-snip-
You could make it voice chat only...
But then again

But you still have the issue of add-ons and such.

Unless like on Xbox you charged like 80 Microsoft Points for add-ons such as:

Gamemodes
Builds
Weapons
Vehicles

Like sell BL on Xbox Live Arcade for $15 and make the rest off of add-on packs.

wow

i was thinking like command prompt console

like, holy stuff
