No, BL needs too high a level of control for console.
I disagree, in a discussion about how to implement an iPad version I came up with a very reasonable control scheme for the "buttonless" device.
When you make a port you don't literally carry over the same format and feel as the PC version.
If it was made for PS2 (just for demonstration sake since I'm unaware of the PS3 controller):
X Place Ghost Brick / Select
R1 Fire / Confirm Ghost Brick
Start Menu
Select Brick Menu
brown townog L Move Character (left and right movement acts as strafe)
brown townog R Move Aim
Square Jump / Jet Combo
Triangle Dispose of item / Undo If Nothing Selected
Arrow Pad Navigate menus / navigate ghost brick / navigate item choice
Circle Paint Can
R3 Jet (no jump)
L3 Jump (no jet)
R2 Crouch
L1 Emote (how many times pressed depends what emote occurs or if player sits)
R2 + L2 Admin teleport / spawn
L2 Walk
As for chatting, that would be placed as a little GUI below the brick menu when you open it, and controlled by the arrow pad.
