Author Topic: Is it me or does the forum make people more self-centered?  (Read 1192 times)

i'm not any more self-centered though

I've also noticed that a lot of the older members refuse to use good grammar. I'm not calling you out for how you wrote the OP Kingdaro, this is just something that I see a lot. It's like all the older forumers have huge egos and think they're too good for grammar.
i'll use the shift key every now and then, i just prefer to go without
it's not that i have a "huge ego and think i'm too good for the shift key" though lol, i just don't always feel like using it.

When I read peoples post I don't really even notice grammar though unless it's really bad.

more like we've been around long enough to realize that it isn't important, and that only the bitchiest of 13 year olds would get angry at it

too cool for the shift key

8) <--wait stuff

I use grammar

People are self centered from age 3+

Cartoons like Sesame Street and stuff have taught us that we might actually be the president or a space man some day.

They lied to us

This is the only place that can make you an overly-egoistical richard while destroying your self esteem all at once.

And the worst part is, you can never leave, even if the entire community hates you.

Even when you want to leave you just keep getting sucked back in.

That's the truth, Truth.

Only if you're a friend.

I attempt to not be self centered because I don't like the way that feels and I wouldn't want anyone else to think that I'm that kind of person

I think I might be self-centered, but it's pretty hard to observe your own behavior in a negative way. I'm trying though.

^^ Prime example. I immediately thought to talk about myself.
I guess the internet is sort of a venting thing for a lot of people.

I don't think it is everyone being self centered, albeit there is an honest few out there.

People just want to share what they've done or experienced.

Odds are they aren't 100% of the time "LOOK AT LOOK AT ME LOOOOOOK AT MEEEEEE"

They just want people's opinions I would think.

As for the "Older members don't use grammar" Older members tend to stop giving a stuff; Thus slacking off in their grammar because all they want is enough to get their point across.

so if they dont use grammar its either to prove a point, or because they dont give two hoots if you "correct" them

To follow up on the grammar point, sometimes I just don't capitalize anything, or I lack punctuation.

I think it reflects my mood and adds a certain tone to the text.
