We should take her apart.
I was thinking of parting her then giving what's left to the yard.

so do you plan on buying a new car anytime soon or something?

Give it a proper burial... At sea. Block the gas pedal and let it speed off a cliff into a nearby body of water.

I've been looking on Craigslist for probably another Honda. My budget is around $1500.

Just seen that one topic with your car wreck. Damn.

Also get a Honda Civic '93 like mine is (going to be when I hit 16)
They get 38-40mpg

Their are a variety of things that may be wrong, none if them are particularly cheap. Generally a body shop needs to handle bent frames depending on the severity of the bends. The alignment is most likely also bad which will increase wear on the tires and potentially destroy the axle in the long run. Its terrible to drive with a bent frame.

As for the knocking in the engine. Does it sound like its coming from inside the engine block? Or is the entire engine moving around as you brake/accelerate? If the noises are coming from inside the block, that isn't cheap. It generally means something in the engine broke off and it constantly bouncing around, causing potentially even more damage. The extreme heat of not having a radiator may have caused this issue in the engine.

If the entire engine block is shifting around it may need new motor mounts. Their are a total of 3 of those holding an engine in. And if it's to the point were the whole block moves, they all need to be replaced. Each one runs about $50-100. Plus unless you have a lift to pick the engine up a repair shop would have to handle it, costing even more. Damaged motor mounts would have been caused by the sheer impact force and driving with the bent frame/bad alignment.

Also make sure you at least keep oil in it. If you still try to drive it we can't have you loving it up even more.

take her to a doctor

I know enough about cars to have diagnosed this all myself. The motor itself has the issue, which is the main reason I decided to go the route of buying a new car. The frame isn't bent bad, just in front of the radiator, so the radiator won't fit.

Read this as  "My cat is dying"

It's a metaphor for the Library, cause it's dying.

But really, sucks man. We've seen quite a bit of car trouble around the Maloney household and it's absolute stuff on everyone

I think the engine was knocking because he burnt up all his oil so you could hear the valvetrain clicking.

A shame since you have sentimental value attached to it.

Though cars like this aren't that expensive are they? I see teenagers driving vehicles like that all the time. :?
