Addons should NEVER be private. Only ONE person benefits from it and the full potential of the mod is never used. Most are never released anyway making their existence completely pointless. Mods should only be made when made for more than one person. Private Addons should not exist.

I would say everything but unique gamemodes like Pload's Prison Escape should be public. There's no point in having something private except for "Oh, look at me, I have something cooler than you!"

I agree. We've seen what happens when popular mods get released (Pokemon). Things that aren't unique gamemodes such as footsteps should never be private.

What I cant stand is when really cool mods that only the creator uses and owns completely forgets about the mod/gets rid of it. It never is released, and all you can do is wish somebody would re-make a public version.

Take the Murder Mystery Mod. It was awesome. But it was never fully finished or released. It was withheld and is now forgotten prolly to never be seen again.
