Author Topic: forget teachers who teach us the asdf jkl; standard typing technique  (Read 2187 times)

Most of us type faster the way that majority of us do(100+wpm), which makes me wonder why they bother to try and make us conform to this home row typing technique. I've never met anyone who used the asdf jkl;, and my teachers don't use it to, making them look like hypocrites. With that, typing lessons no longer included it. Still found it stupid that they forced it.

I sometimes stuff around with StickyKeys.

I use homerow and get like 120+ WPM. :v

My home row is.... Wow I just noticed I sort of use home row I just don't have them directly on the keys.
When I type my hands stay at the home row.... forget when did I start doing this?

Without homerow, I can type at just below 10 correct keystrokes per second.
With it, I type at around 2 correct keystrokes per second.

i use home row if i'm in the dark. i have a keyboard with a backlight, so i don't need loving home row. i usually don't try to type super fast and go a steady 45 wpm, simple because typing as i think is a lot easier when my fingers don't have to stop every time i don't know what to write next.

I dont even know how I type, I never really paid attention to it. I guess my fingers just flail around hitting keys. Works out well for me.
