Author Topic: Emulation Question  (Read 496 times)

I've been curious to know how, and if it's possible to run solid, hard disk games on your PC with an Emulator. Because I have a fair amount of old PS2 games I'm interested in playing, but the damned thing died years ago, and they were still my best source of entertainment.

Most emulators run off of rom files, just don't download them if you don't own the game because piracy is bad mkay...

yes, you can. just make sure you aren't getting a ps1 emulator program.

I'm sure PCSX2 isn't a Ps1 emulator. :P
I just came into the issue of needing the BIOS files from my PS2 in order to play, and as far as I am concerned, the thing has been trashed.

If you can get it to run a disk you can dump your BIOS (which is legal according to the emulator please don't hurt me) (or was it from USB? don't remember)

but yeah after you do that, you should be able to run games straight from disks by putting them into your PC

and if not, rip the ISO yourself (but don't download ISOs or distribute the ripped ISO because that's illegal)

ive put ps1 games in my disc drive and ran them though an emulator but duno about ps2

I have a set up PCSX2.
Also, you gotta have freemcboot or an exploit to run the BIOS dump.
And the damned thing has gotta work !!!
I used a MGS exploit on my old ps2 and still have the dumped bios, not distributing it or anything.
I tried to use the MGS exploit on my new ps2 and I got a beautiful red screen. (I want you all to feel my fear with the RSOD, CLICK IT NOW, also i don't pirate)
Also, some games lag like forget for me.
My setup is medium-high end.

So, instead of bearing with the lag, I ordered my own copy of 007 agent under fire to exploit with.
