What is Red Orchestra about anyways?

The Ostfront in Eastern Europe, where there was a conflict between Russia, Poland and other Allies and Finland, and European Axis powers. RO2 is about the Battle of Stalingrad, possibly one of the bloodiest battles in the history of warfare, in which either side payed little to no attention for civilian casualties. It was also a major and decisive battle.
Though, the games let you only play from the standpoint of either a Russian or German soldier.
