like what the forget you're making a goddamn racing sim but you're not adding roosterpit view because "only 5% of users use it"
it would take them what a week to make all the roosterpit views

and that's not the first time you cut corners
Dirt 3 was a loving disappointment the rallies were way shorter and it was stuffty console port

i love this part though

we can use the extra available memory to make the on-track racing a truly mind-blowingly immersive experience.
bullstuff you're using the loving EGO game engine
oh yeah that's right you're catering to console players instead of PC players

We certainly don't want to alienate any of our fans we want to deliver truly exciting features that 100% of our players will enjoy. Videogame development is always about trade-offs and in this case, taking the hard decision to lose the in-car views for 5% of our players (and remember we still have bonnet cam and bumper cam, which many people with racing wheels use), is something we felt was more beneficial to everyone. They are expensive to run due to the requirement for high-resolution interior textures which are seen close-up and require a considerable amount of in-game memory (to store) and processing (to render).
even more loving bullstuff Pholyphony made GT5 look loving incredible on a console and those interiors are detailed to forget. So why can't you do the same?

i'm not loving buying GRID 2 now

so you suddenly hate them
for not adding roosterpit view
even though barely anyone uses it?
i'd rather have them working on things that matter like making the cars not drive horribly then adding the ability to see inside your car or whatever

Yes and how hard would it of been to have first person view?

forza 4 roosterpit view is pretty cool

that's like saying the vavle should take out all the other pistols in CS:GO because almost everyone uses the desert eagle

five percent
FIVE PERCENT

five percent
FIVE PERCENT

When someone writes : "I use roosterpit cam"  to justify that 5% cannot be correct... I laugh a little.  5% ends up being a pretty big number if you do the math.  that's 1 in 20 people.  or 5 in 100 or 50 in 1000 or 500 in 10000  . . keep going until you get to the millions this title WILL sell.  and that 5% seems legit.
taken from the official forums
also even if it is only five percent why shouldn't they make it
that's like ATI only making one line of video cards because 95% of people buy that line of cards

"we can use the extra available memory to make the on-track racing a truly mind-blowingly immersive experience."

because seeing the back of your car at all times is immersive, yeah!

if you would notice in the OP of the topic
he says nothing of improving gameplay just graphics

I'm pretty sure that it's more like 50-50 between roosterpit and 3rd person. They probably lost their 5 artists that could actually model with enough detail to design the roosterpits quickly or something.

The roosterpit is the best view, and in a game that claims to be realistic like Dirt I'm sure they'd want to have a shred of it be true.

I never play JUST roosterpit or JUST 3rd person.
I like to jump inbetween.

this is how real men play.

i can't aim for stuff in third person games without a GTAIV-style zoom in

i can't drive for stuff in first person but it looks awesome

i can drive pretty good i did all this in the roosterpit view

It IS harder to make a first person cam.  Many, many polys have to be used for the interior, not to mention modeling the interior in the first place.
