Author Topic: Hitman: Codename 47 Steam overlay is forgeted up  (Read 2599 times)

Whenever I try to run the game, it comes up with the error "Failed to find Steam". I tried googling this and nothing helped.

Now that I can run it, the Steam Overlay is completely broken. I cannot see any text and everything else is in block colours.

Was it saved in the cluster of Steam related folders?

It's saved in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Hitman Codename 47

I'm trying to run it on Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. Might this be stopping it from working? I tried the compatibility settings and running it as admin but they don't work.

404 steam not found

but in all seriousness you should see if you can demand a refund if it doesnt work for you. thats what i did with fallout 2.

I bought it in a pack. My dad is going to install Windows XP on my other hard drive at some point and we can see if it will run off there.

this happens to me for blood money too.

i restarted steam, restarted computer, reinstalled then did previous steps again, got a new computer, still didn't work

stuff's forgeted up

I set my graphics card memory usage to minimum and this fixed it for Hitman 2 and Blood Money. Try doing this if you have one of those ultra high-powered ones. It doesn't go low enough for Codename 47 though ;-;

EDIT: I fixed it by turning everything in my graphics card performance including the fan to lowest and just running it normally through Windows 7 without administration privileges. Goodbye, time to play some Hitman :cookieMonster:

EDIT2: The error still occurs, but only when I forget to set my graphics card memory usage to 500MHz instead of 900MHz. Set your graphics memory usage to the lowest it will go to and restart Steam then it should be fine.
