Author Topic: torak11 - Repeatedly bumping old drama threads  (Read 7659 times)

Something i forgot to mention: the drama topics i bumped, i found my way to them via the search function. NOT by browsing through the drama forum pages.
Explains alot.

The only reason i bumped this drama is because i wasn't aware of it untill just recently, but you would have known that if you had read my response to the link you posted in my drama
I was guessing you were not aware of it until then; you fade in and out from the forums for long periods of time, leaving only a few posts each occasional visit. But that is no reason to bump it.

If i recall, a topic is considered derailed when the posts have stopped and are no longer of any relevance to the OP, which is what happened here.
When the posts stop, that means the thread is dead. Bumping it tells people "don't let the posts stop", yet you are now shouting "lock lock lock!" just after doing something that welcomes more posting. That makes absolutely no sense at all.

And oh, but the posts are still relevant to the OP, so no, what you're talking about has not happened here. The focus is still on you, like it was before. It's completely relevant. The thread is not derailed, it's revived by you, and for the millionth time, you're yet asking for a lock.

Which, again, brings up the issue of why you made this drama. Because i'm not very active on the forums (usually) my bumps usually fall under the radar. And they don't occur that often, making them far less annoying than you claim. The only reason i've had a spike in forum activity is A) This topic, B) My own drama topic, and C) A now resolved issue i had with the game

...maybe because half your posts are still either bumping dead threads or arguing why you think it's justifiable on a forum that doesn't exactly appreciate the action?

Read the OP. Made it because you were bumping very old threads for little good reason.

Oh, so you were hoping you could bump old threads only on occasion and nobody would notice? Nice thinking; No, just don't do it period unless you've got something really worthwhile for bumping.

And they don't occur that often, making them far less annoying than you claim.
I am claiming them to only be as annoying as they are. I am not exaggerting, and I even tried to tactfully word the OP nicely, hoping when you saw it you'd simply say "Sorry guys, i'll stop".

The reason you are active now is because of your activity in drama, and some of it is affecting you negatively. How about instead of shouting "Lock all these threads someone, please!", just let them die and stop posting in them. That is how dramas naturally end. Locks are only for cases where threads are repeatedly and pointlessly bumped or continued endlessly over a long period of time, accomplishing nothing, or in some cases, if they were big spam/goodbye posts.

I stated that a few pages back. (not in the exact same way of course

Thats actually what the majoraty of the most recent posts i've made are, goodbye posts. I've been trying to say "goodbye" to both this and my drama topic for the last few posts, but others, and especially you keep replying, elongating the topic. if anything YOU need to stop replying

Dismissing your own dramas are bannable, but quit trying to run away from them. Just accept them and stop posting in them. Since they're revolving around you, maybe if you stop fueling them with more of your own posts, people won't have to reply to anything.

no, goodbye posts are when you actually say you're leaving the forums

which is bannable by the way

and you need to stop replying just to get the last word + the whole point of the drama is to get you to stop posting in drama so much. this topic will eventually die regardless, but it will take longer the way you go on.

Good point, i'll probably stop after this post, don't bother replying.

IIRC, the search function tells you when the topic was created and the most related post to your search shows the date of that post of when it was posted.
