Author Topic: Chilliwack: Where we lose our everything to the Native Americans.  (Read 1018 times)

One: That last sentence I said there was not saying they were, although most of the ones here do. I was merely saying I dislike someone getting what they want for nothing. But you make a valid point when you say they just want to live a good life, and I suppose I have to respect that.
You were implying that Natives get everything handed to them, which obviously is not the case. The people on welfare are usually from poor families so it's hard to get good education. Since they lack good education, they cannot (usually) get a well paying job so they have to live in the more seedy parts of towns. It's a vicious circle that really hurts the Native community, they should help the Native community even more.

I'm partially Native American and you have offended me, good sir. Although I do agree there are some issues, you shouldn't make a generalization about all people of Native American descent. I know I personally am a good person, I'm sure that these are just a few starfishs who are behaving like that.

And I apologize for offending you, but I hate to see my town be controlled by a petty organization called sto:lo which was suppose to devote their time to helping orphan children demand that they get their own Casinos and more rather than help get the Native Americans here more education that they need.. There are many good Native Americans here, but not enough. Most of my hatred towards most of them here is due to personal interactions with them myself. Now, I hate the whole lot of Native Americans HERE I'm hoping it's different in other countries and for the most part is appears that way, and again I'm sorry I offended you and I'm apologize to anyone else I have offended.

I do however believe that regardless of what grunterdb tries to explain, he is being prejudice and is unfairly stereotyping.
You can't claim all Native Americans are bad just because the ones in your single town are.
Perhaps they are detrimental in your town, but that doesn't give you the right to say all Native Americans are inherintely evil, lazy, criminal and rude.

I'm not going to say that they deserve the right to act how they want due to their history, because that is equally wrong. The ancestors of my nationality committed numerous wars and enacted mass slavery. But that doesn't mean I should have to scrape the bottom of the barrel to get by, just for recompense for my ancestors actions.
And in the same way, just because the ancestors of your race were cruely mistreated, and yes they and their culture were nearly wiped out, but that doesn't mean you should be allowed to be free of all laws in the country you reside in.

OP needs to seriously get some like-minded people in his community together and to petition and complain and make a fuss.
Crying to an international forum about a specific community of one race won't really solve the problem. Especially when you enter in here and make very rude generalisations and then have the ignorance to suggest having a dictator lead your country, all on the basis of what a few people (in comparison to their entire race and your entire country) happen to do in your town.

If OP is angry and wants to tackle problems regarding what he sees as an entire race of people, then he needs to grow up a little bit and treat the case with a little more respect.

I've read over your post and I have to say, everything you said is true. Although I don't think I should be law free, I wanted to be treated equally as I want to see others being done so too. And I don't picture all natives as evil and rude, but sometimes it's really hard to see otherwise. Either way I respect your opinion on this case.
