In my opinion the world needs more regulation as it is. Letting countries do as they wish instead of the doctrines of the UN leads to, well, the Middle East situation. Shooting missiles into civilian areas is an atrocity, and putting countries not only under UN law but protection as well would do a world of good.
The UN is a joke. To achieve any sort of regulation and protection that you speak of would require some balls accompanied by actual strength, militarily and economically.

The best is stuff. I'm not saying we can do better, I'm saying we need to do better.

The UN is the hero we deserve, not the hero we need.

UN soldiers can't even fix stuff in Liberia.

There will probably be a war, that's what normally happens when stuff like this happens.

I'd guess the UK will try and get involved seems as the government likes to believe it's still a superpower, but for once i don't think they will as their economy has gone to stuff.
