Author Topic: Needs some opinions for streaming  (Read 485 times)

I have recently started to stream games on Twitch and have used 2 streaming programs so far. One has better video but worse audio, and one has better audio but worse video and I'm not sure which one to use.

Better video, worse audio: http://www.twitch.tv/genaralskar/b/356464635

And the reason the video is low quality in both of them is because my upload speed is terrible so it has to be that low to actually stream well.

twitch is 100000000000x better than livestream and thats where all the most popular gaming streams are broadcasted so you win the award for worst advice 2013.

In all honesty if you don't have the upload speed to stream good video and sound quality consistently then streaming is just not for you as fun as it sounds to do.

The quality isn't so bad it's not worth doing, I just can't stream in HD.

Let me be more specific:

Livestream's RECORDER seems to work damn fine for me, and it usually saves your stuff butwaitwherewasIgoingwiththis

But yeah upload speed is everything or learn to stream with Fraps :u

Also, jesus, just trying to help. Damnnn.

Want to state the 2 recording programs you tried out of curiosity?

I tried procaster if that's what you're talking about and it doesn't work well for me. Plus Twitch is for gaming streams so I have a higher chance of views on that site.

XSplit Broadcaster (worse audio) and Adobe Flash Media Encoder (worse video). I'm only using the free version of XSplit, but don't really want to pay for a license since it's a subscription. Also Adobe Media Encoder is completely free, so it's just my internet that makes the video bad.

I believe you can also stream using VLC, I may be wrong though.

Try Dyyno broadcaster it's basically idiot proof and worked well for me when I had low upload speed. You basically just choose your speed and quality you want and drag a little icon over the thing you want to record and it's all done. Very simple. Xsplit never worked right for me it always lagged horribly and had lots of lost frames even when I had 10 mb/s upload.

I don't want to change the site that I'm streaming to, like I said

I'm also not looking for new streaming software. My upload speed is terrible so it's not going to change much. I just want to know which one would you rather watch, better video, or better audio.

oh sorry, didnt know what you were getting at.

personally, i'd rather watch a stream that has better video, but good audio is a must if you ever want to stream music games or have a mic.

I'm thinking of commentating eventually, so thanks for the feedback.
