Because you can only have one light source that casts shadows.
When the sun is under the map... it doesn't really need to cast shadows.

That's what I said before and someone said I was wrong. The thing about only having one object to cast shadows, couldn't Badspot make it so the sun stops giving off light and then instead it goes to the moon? This way it would work no?
