well, this seems a lot more feasible than kinect
Kinect doesn't require calibration and lining up the empty box/screwing in a projector

I'm not sure, I've only ever used it like twice, and I wasn't setting it up, but I'm pretty sure it does have to be calibrated
no idea what you're talking about with "empty box." I haven't listened to the video bc my laptop is muted, so I assume it mentioned something about it or whatever
but by feasible I meant technologically
bc I assumed he meant that the commercials made it seem like it actually worked for stuff

Funny thing. The first game they show isn't even available for Xbox. It won't even run on it because it uses OpenGL and not DirectX.

well
it's not an Xbox thing
it's a Microsoft Research thing
and if you avoid xbox.com, you see that Kinect is, in fact, not solely for Xbox
what I'm saying is that this isn't about Xbox
no clue why OP said "Xbox IllumiRoom"

By empty box I mean the spot where the projector isn't displaying.  And I see now, it would do this by itself, but still, you don't need to put in a projector to use a Kinect.  The Kinect doesn't require calibration because there is no real way to do that or reason to do it.

GUYS WHAT'S THE ONLY THING BETTER THAN USING YOUR EXPENSIVE HD TELEVISION TO PLAY GAMES ON IN 1080p?

PROJECTING THEM IN A WORSE QUALITY ON YOUR WALLS!!!!!!!! YEA!!!!

this is dumb and I hope it goes away. what's the point? can someone tell me one cool thing that can be done with this other than WELL YOU CAN SEE MORE AND THERE ARE PRETTY LIGHTS

This is a huge issue now, people want to waste so much processing on multiple images with 3d, second screens, and now this.

I'm pretty sure the first guy said 'Xbox, go big'
Or did I hear that wrong or something?

That's supposed to be the command for kinect.  Also Xbox is microsoft's game console.  As in this would have applications in gaming.

more like XBOX, GO HOME because get this stuff out of my gaming scene

It should probably be something else, instead of Xbox, if this
isn't about Xbox

Also I wouldn't buy this, what's wrong with just keeping the game on the nice HD screen.
